• Organize the Patrol for the Klondike
• Gateway Ideas

Merit Badge:  7:45 pm – 8:15 pm: First Aid with Mr. Evans and Mr. Dahlke

Skill Instruction:  7:45 pm – 8:15 pm:

• Learning the following knots:  Timber Hitch, Clove Hitch, Sheet Bend, Bow Line, Square Knot, 2 Half Hitches, Sheep Shank, and Taut Line Hitch (Jeff R, Paul O, Emmett L)
• First Aid Review Station?

Closing:

• Ensure that you pack appropriately for Klondike look for packing list in Troop email for Klondike

Important Information:

• Polaris district winter Klondike 1/25/19 –  1/27/19
• Sign up and pay for Klondike by 1/14/18 cost is $22.00 ( $12.00 for event $10.00 for Troop campout = $22.00)  Cost increases by $5.00 after 1/18/19 registration date.
• Check signup sheets
• Troop PLC we have a meeting on Wednesday 1/9/19 @ 6:30 pm
• Adults, we need help moving shelves from our store room to the main meeting area at the close of the meeting.

Troop 286 Meeting Plan

1/7/19 7:00 pm – 8:30 PM

Gathering Activity:  7:00 pm – 7:15 pm:  Tarp ball Troop PLC arrive at 6:45 pm to run activity

Opening:  7:15 pm – 7:25 pm:  Question for the Troop.  For out meeting on 1/28/19 do we want the Aquatic Center or Bowling?  Game on has closed.

Patrol Corners: 7:30 pm – 7:45 pm:  What is a winter Klondike?  Scouts with Klondike experience will explain to Troop.

Merit Badge:  7:45 pm – 8:15 pm:  1^st Aid with Mr. Dahlke and Mr. Evans.  We will determine who needs to take this merit badge.

Skill Instruction:  7:45 pm – 8:15 pm:  Troop 286 Prepares for winter Klondike with review of planned activities.  (see attached leaders guide)

· Egg drop, patrols will make their drop vessel with provided materials only. (Jack Orrange show up at 6:45)

Opening: 7:15 pm – 7:25 pm:

· Collection of Gradle stick
· Out Door Code:
o As an American, I will do my best
§ to be clean in my outdoor manners
§ Be careful with fire
§ Be considerate in the outdoors
§ and Be conservation minded.

• Troop 286 annual dues of $125 per scout are due
• No sledding campout @ Camp Cutler $10 payable due
• Buffalo Escape Room $20.00 Payable now due on 12/10/18
• If your scout wants a 2019 Boy’s Life subscription at a cost of $12 we need to know tonight
• Scouts attending no sledding campout will meet to discuss weekend menu and activities

FYI

Summer camp merit badge sign up begins 4/15/18 I believe.  Scouts think about your merit badge schedule see attached PDFs.

Sky Zone Participants:  Troop was charged more than I projected, and I am going to have to request an additional payment from participants.  I have a call out to sky zone to finalize the amount.   An extra $2 – $4 per jumper more may be requested.   Information coming.

• An 11-year-old young man and family could be coming to see what scouting is all about.
• Arrow of Light Scouts from 529 could be coming to take part in meeting activities.
• UB Bulls Scout Day Basketball game offer $10 tickets for 1/13/17 see attached flyer for information.  If we have the interest we can attend.
• Sign up Sheets will be available for many more activities.
